ASU EarthScope Seminar Course Information
Instructor: Matt Fouch | fouch.asu.edu
Meeting Time: Mondays | 1:40p - 2:30p
Meeting Room: Bateman Physical Sciences | F-566
Course format: This course will be in a simple seminar format. Obviously, class participation is an essential part of this process. We will spend most class periods presenting, discussing, and critiquing papers in the literature relevant to the EarthScope Project.
Course objectives: By the end of this course, you should:
- Have a better understanding of the geophysical structure and dynamics of the western United States
- Improve your ability to discuss and present scientific research
Grading: Grading for this course is simple. It will be entirely based on your presentation and leading the discussion for a research paper, taking discussion notes the week before you lead discussion, and your weekly participation in the paper discussions. While you will only lead one discussion and take notes for one discussion, I expect everyone to participate in every class.
